How SuperDNA 3D lab Delivers Value for Money

Posted on May 10th, 2020

At SuperDNA 3D Lab, we have always been committed to providing 3D product modeling of highest quality standards with the primary objective to fulfil customer requirements and their business interests.

Our 3D specialists are capable of monitoring each stage of the process so that we can deliver great models as per industry standards.

Here’s how SuperDNA 3D lab ensures the optimum cost for models:

Effort Estimation

Cost is estimated mainly based on the complexity involved in the modeling and texturing of the products. To assess the complexity, models are generally categorized based on the time involved such as simple (1-3 hours), moderate (4-6 hours), hard (7-12 hours), and very hard (more than 12 hours). The more time required, the greater the cost incurred.

Creating Models as per the Requirement

SuperDNA 3D lab is capable of delivering models as per Levels-Of-Detail (LOD) to keep unnecessary costs at bay. LOD concept indicates how much 3D data is to be surveyed and how many details need to be modeled. This is captured in a 3D model geometrically and attribute-wise which is referred to as the level of detail.

There are three Levels-Of-Detail – LOD 1, LOD 2, and LOD 3. LOD 1 is used for hard surface objects for which the poly count should be lower. In this phase, details such as bolts, screws, etc. can be omitted from the model. This can be used as a 20-20 CAD Symbol.LOD 2 is used for alpha-based stitching objects which are used in VR/AR visualizations/game engines, whereas LOD 3 (high poly) is used for creating a photo-realistic 3D rendering of room scenes.

Strong QA Process

As our standard process, before starting with the project, verification of detail is done and the mechanism is analyzed to validate if the team is capable to perform, by maintaining the standards in the operation and delivery. Once a model is created, the QA team checks the methods, approach, and quality of the model. QA team further checks into layers and dimensions and verifies modeling standards, such as scale, thickness, dimensions, etc. If the QA team finds any error in the model, it is sent back to the modeling team for modification, else the model is sent to texturing team. A strong and agile quality process helps us minimize rework and design hours, and that substantially helps in keeping the costs minimal.

Using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Utilities

SuperDNA 3D lab has its machine learning utility and it helps us identify the components of models that have been already created in our library. We have more than 20,000 relevant models purchased/owned to find relevance. We have the right to extend and reuse these models.

In addition, we also set up a machine learning utility for each customer so that they can also take benefits of reusability if they are producing similar models more than once. Having in-house AI utilities enables us to make model creation quick and cost-effective.

How SuperDNA 3D lab is Different

At SuperDNA 3D lab, we strive to provide the best 3D services to our customers, from initial phase to final delivery of the products. We have a set standard quality management process, where we consistently work on our model creation process, quality assurance system, delivery process, methodologies, and customer services to meet world-class standards. We have so far delivered around 50,000+ models to leading global eCommerce brands.

We are dominant in creating digital assets across the globe. We have a team of experienced 3D artists who are committed to a quality work approach, whether it is a high poly or a low poly modeling. A typical 3D studio focuses on either technology or 3D, whereas we take both along to deliver the best possible work while keeping the cost minimal.
